I know Larry passed away a few years ago but he left a lasting impression on me. I was a young very lost 19 year old girl who had moved to Oahu (like so many other young people) in the mid 70's. Larry took me under his wing and showed me the island ways. He was always a gentleman and kind to me at a time when I had no faith in men or myself. I knew I needed to go back to California to pursue college and make my own way after almost a year of living there. Larry never tried to hold me back and never judged me. To his surviving family I am truly sorry for your loss. I just wanted you to know how much he influenced me and encouraged me. I got to meet his parents and I think a sister while I was living there. I spent years visiting the islands and still do. I dont know if you will even see this since it has been 5 years since he passed. I would have attended his service if I had known. I hope my message reaches one of his children or grandchildren and maybe his wife or siblings? He is missed. Thank you,
Denise Fields
